Chapter Fourteen

Larry woke when his phone alarm went off at nine. Five minutes after that his phone rang, it was his brother calling. “Tyler.”

“Jones has some more information. Nick there?”

“You’re on speaker, we’re both here.”

“Hi guys.” Jones called. “I’ve some good and bad news. I’ll give you the bad first. It looks like something is going on at the compound, what we aren’t sure, but there seems to be a bit more traffic. They’ve increased the guards, but from what I’ve seen, there are only a few more. From what I saw on the satellite, it looks like there are around thirty of them now.”

“Great.” Larry snapped. “What’s the good news?”

“I was able to spare one of the men. I’ve sent Thompson out to you. He should be knocking on your door now with breakfast.”

The sudden sound of knocking could be heard, with a voice saying, “Room service, breakfast courtesy of Captain Tyler.”

Larry and Nick got up and pulled on some pants, and Nick went and checked the door, then opened it and let the person in after confirming who it was. After letting him in, Larry and Nick finished getting dressed.

“Thompson is here.” Nick called out.

“Sir.” Thompson said.

“Give them the intel I gave you.” Tyler ordered. “I want them brought up to speed. I’m not sure what they were doing, but some large vans came onto the property and left after going into the garage. I don’t know what was on them, but I don’t like it.”

“How many times did a van go to the house?” Larry asked. “How big were they?”

“Cargo vans, three of them.” Jones said.

“Still the two dogs?” Larry confirmed.

“Yes.” Jones responded.

“Alright. We’ll stop on the way for some steak to hide the medication in, feed it to the dogs and wait for them to go to sleep before we begin our assault. Keep an eye on the place and let us know if there’s any change.” Larry said.

“Will do.” Jones said.

“We’re going in at three in the morning. That should be when things are quiet enough around there. I’m hoping that they’ll be sleeping and we can catch them off guard.” Larry let them know.

“Good time.” Tyler said. “Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you.”

“Will do. Bye.” Larry hung the phone and turned to Thompson. “What do you have for us?”

“Not much else, but Jones said that the cargo vans had the windows all blacked out. He wasn’t able to see what was in them, so he had no idea, which frustrated the hell outta him.”

“He doesn’t like not knowing.”

Thompson snorted. “He hates not knowing.”

“What did you bring to eat?” Larry moved over to the cart to see what there was and groaned at the sight of the perfectly cooked steaks, but what really caught his attention was the coffee. He grabbed a cup and poured himself one and let out a low moan when the hot caffeine hit his tongue.

“Do you need a moment with your coffee, or are
